Westford Overture

Westfort Overture is an opening work of many contrasts and completely built on one main motive. The beginning sounds majestic, and continues through a faster tempo with many effects, especially in terms of rhythm and color. In the middle a March Cantabile is heard in the tradition of Edwin Elgar, after which the majestic beginning is repeated.

The ending sounds spectacular due to the very fast tempo in combination with the exciting rhythm, in which we hear the main motif for the last time. Due to the variety of tempi, instrumentations and emotions, this work is regularly used in master classes for conductors.
