About Nordic Fanfare and Hymn
As the title suggests, this opening work consists of a fanfare and a hymn. It was written for the opening ceremony of the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf (Allgäu, Germany).
Performance Note
This composition is a versatile piece that can be used in different performance settings. There are four different versions: a complete version; a short fanfare by trumpets (cornets), trombones, and timpani; a double fanfare (extended with tutti-band); and a fanfare version followed by a portion of the hymn.
