Ministry of Winds (‘t Ministerie van Fanfare) provides some interesting food for thought that Jacob de Haan translates into music. What if there was a Ministry of Winds (or Fanfare)?

It could be in charge of the advancement and dissemination of music throughout the nation, as well as trengthening the state through music and providing its citizens with entertainment, support, comfort and joy. All these aspects are mirrored in this composition. Culminating in all the joy and happiness the creation of this ministry has provided tot he people.

Jacob de Haan: “I composed this work in memory of the famous Dutch conductor Piebe Bakker. As a conductor he was able to convey his great love for music to his musicians and the audience. In this work he can be considered as the ‘minister of winds’, and the resonance of this work seems to have been realized from the idea of pleasing the minister with the most beautiful music I could compose.”
