Four Shepherds Songs

Jacob de Haan arranged four traditional German carols in the suite Four Shepherd Songs. In the four-part instrumentation, creating the possibility to play the piece with a large number of varied strengths, he successively arranged Als ich bei meinen Schafen wacht, Inmitten der Nacht, Kommet ihr Hirten, and Ihr Hirten, erwacht.

The arrangement was skillfully replenished with suitable percussion instruments. All of the carols can be performed with a choir (German text). Four Shepherd Songs beautifully enriches the Christmas repertoire.
