Filadelfia

Filadelfia is a small town in the province of Vibo Valentia in the region of Calabria (Italy). This work depicts the town before and after the earthquake of 1783. In the beginning we hear the optimistic dance-rich melodies that capture the atmosphere of the town to display. Suddenly the melody is interrupted by a deep thud. The earthquake destroys the entire town. After a silence we hear slow music that expresses the pain of the people of Philadelphia who have lost everything. Over time, the town is rebuilt in the shape we see know today. Musicians come from four directions onto the central square to celebrate the new future. Once again we hear the melodies as they sounded before earthquake, but this time they seem to sound even more festive and complete the original melody.
