Ammerland is Jacob de Haan’s most frequently performed work in the US. Jacob de Haan: “I once conducted a wind band from Ammerland in the historic Kurhaus, overlooking the lake. When I arrived in the morning, a mist hung over the water. The further the day went on, the more the sun gained strength. The wonderful memory of this change from mist to lightness inspired me to compose Ammerland”.
